A Message from the Principal

The recent spread of the novel coronavirus infection has affected various educational activities, and it is very painful for students such as excursions, school trips, school events and club activities. 

On the other hand, our school produced great results in many respects thanks to the passion and efforts of our teachers and the students' strong will to overcome their hardships and work hard.
Our school was founded as the 2nd branch of Tokushima Jinjyo Chugakko in 1896 and this year marks the 127th anniversary, which means it is one of the longest-established high schools in the Tokushima Prefecture. More than 25,000 graduates of our school have made significant impacts in many fields all over the world.
Our school motto is "Simplicity and Fortitude" and the students traditionally work hard studying and participating in club activities, which continues today with many clubs participating in National Inter-High School Competitions. Our school has produced a lot of promising youths who are leaders and are indispensable to Japan.
Our school was designated as a Super Science High School three years ago by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; not only in the Science and Mathematics Course, but also in the General Course, we will promote students' research activities and raise resourceful students who can contribute to our local society.
The basic policy of our school this school year is to aim for "a school which unlocks the students' potential, realizes the students' dreams and is trusted by the students' parents and the local people", which is the same as last school year's. We will cooperate with each other as "Team Tominishi" and do everything we can to support our 591 students so that all of them can lead a fulfilling school life and pursue their desired careers. We really appreciate all the parents and all the local people for their deep understanding and continuous support of the educational activities at Tomiokanishi High School.
